Core rehearsal is held on the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, when our Orchestra, Choir, and Production teams gather to plan and rehearse upcoming events. These monthly meetings form the heartbeat and regular rhythm of our organisation.
The Australian Christian Choir holds additional rehearsals every second week—check Heartbeat for the current schedule.
Extra technical rehearsals or walk-throughs for Production, Choir, and Orchestra members take place on the Thursday evening before each show, or the week prior.
Leading up to special events or Easter celebrations, rehearsals may become more intensive.
Sheet music will be printed and provided at each rehearsal for all participants. This ensures everyone has access to the latest versions and any recent modifications.
Additionally, all music scores are available digitally on our Heartbeat intranet platform prior to rehearsals. Please monitor the threads on Heartbeat regularly to see when new music becomes available. You can access and download the scores through the 'Music' link for practice before rehearsal.
Having the music in advance allows you to:

All members of Australian Christian Arts adult choirs, orchestras, and production teams must be at least 18 years of age at the time of their first rehearsal.
Our organisation maintains high musical standards to ensure quality performances that glorify God. Here are our minimum requirements:
Orchestra Members:
Musicians should be at Grade 7 or higher level (without exception) of proficiency on their instrument. This ensures members can confidently handle complex arrangements and maintain professional standards during performances.
Choir Members:
Vocalists should possess:
While formal musical training is not mandatory for choir members, a good ear and the ability to follow written music are essential. All members should be committed to continual improvement and maintaining these standards.
Production Members:
Production members can have proficiency at any level across various production disciplines, including lighting, sound, stage management, and multimedia. What matters most is enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and a collaborative spirit to either mentor others or learn from experienced team members while developing their own skills.
The Australian Christian Choir and the Australian Christian Orchestra perform a wide variety of music to make Jesus accessible to the entire community. This approach ensures our repertoire doesn't prevent anyone from hearing the gospel message.
Our orchestra showcases the beauty of orchestral instruments, while our choir performs pieces that highlight vocal excellence.
From classical masterpieces to contemporary works, we embrace diverse musical genres to welcome audiences of all backgrounds.
Whether you love classical music, contemporary Christian songs, or seek to grow musically across different genres and styles—all while maintaining artistic excellence—you'll find your place with us.
Regular attendance is crucial for our success. Members must attend 70% or more of rehearsals or scheduled events to keep their membership.
If you cannot attend a rehearsal, please notify your team leader or conductor immediately through Heartbeat's private message function. Include your reason for absence, apology, and how you plan to catch up with repertoire and performance notes.
